A Message From the President
It almost seems like yesterday that I started this company. And yet, here we are in our 25th year!
When I first opened the doors of Simpson Associates, as a single practitioner in a windowless, small office with not much more than a desk and a phone, gasoline was about 40 cents a liter and my first house cost a whole lot less than a hundred grand. Cell phones were, for the most part, only available as “car” phones and cost $3,000. And typewriters were everywhere. How things have changed!
But some things haven´t changed. For instance, I have been fortunate to be able to work with many talented people throughout those years. Some have become life-long friends. Others have become business partners in new and exciting commercial ventures. And some team members, like Jeanne Gilbert, deserve special mention. No one has been more dedicated and enthusiastic.
So many people have enriched my business career, generously sharing their insights and contributing to myself and the company in numerous ways. And for that, I extend a warm and heartfelt “Thank you.” Hopefully, somewhere along the way I have been able to return the favour.
As we go into the future, a group of smart, enthusiastic young people is coming into the company. These new team members are a dedicated, hard working bunch who will be instrumental in ensuring Simpson Associates is well positioned for the future. It is an exciting time. And I´m looking forward to it.
To all of you who have played a role in making this organization a success in the last almost quarter century, thank you.
