Every Thursday afternoon, between 3pm and 5pm, Simpson Associates is holding assessment and interview training workshops. Everyone is welcome and there is no charge for attending. These sessions are well suited for those who are interested in getting an in-depth understanding of our assessment approach and methodology for evaluating candidates. Current attendees include senior HR practioners, a number of CEO's and the Ocean's Apart Management team.

Dr. R. Nideffer, our technical partner in Simpson Associates, is conducting a one-day seminar, for CEO's only. The agenda will be customized specifically to the workshop attendees. This seminar is limited to 6 people (five spots are currently spoken for at this writing - July 16, 2008) and will take place in Rancho Bernardo, California. The exact date for the workshop will be announced shortly with a target date set for sometime late this summer. Cost: $2,000 U.S. Travel and accommodation are additional. This is a rare opportunity to interact with "one of the top ten psychologists on the planet."

Ashleigh Knight, who holds a psychology degree from Thompson Rivers University in Kamloops, BC., has joined the firm in the capacity of administrative co-ordinator. We welcome Ashleigh to the team.

Along with two business partners, Simpson Associates has made an investment in Oceans Apart Management Inc. (OAM) is an executive search group, based in Vancouver, British Columbia. The practice conducts leadership level searches across the globe for a broad base of companies.

Simpson Associates has acquired an interest in Rasoee Restaurant Systems Inc. Rasoee Restaurants is a fast growing, franchised, quick-service, Indian food restaurant group based in Markham, Ontario, Canada. This investment is consistent with the overall direction of Simpson Associates - to provide assessment services for companies which we own versus those who are strictly clients. In addition to providing assessment services for Rasoee's, David Simpson also sits on the Board of Directors.

David Simpson, of Simpson Associates, along with Paolo Kalaw, President & CEO of Frontier Dental, announce the founding of Grandlark Investments Inc. This private equity group was formed with the intent of making corporate acquisitions around specifically identified CEO's. David Simpson brings almost 30 years of experience identifying the very best CEO's in the marketplace. Paolo Kalaw has conducted more than 20 acquisitions in the last 8 years. Grandlark Investments targets acquisitions in the range of $10M to $40M and is currently active in pursuing a number of business acquisition opportunities.
